The well known expert in 'thimila' was born on 14-01-1975 as the eldest son of the famous 'thimila 'player pallavur maniyan marar and shanthakumari marasyar of puthukode marath .at the age of 7 itself he started doing 'adiyantharam' at the pallavur siva temple.he learned 'thayambaka' under the expert guidance of his father pallavur maniyan marar and uncle pallavur kunjukuttan marrar and at the age of 11 itself started his 'thayambaka' career .also learned 'thimila' from uncle pallavur appu marar .by an early age of 14 he started participating in all important 'panjavadya' events .he also did 'nilavu sadaka' for two years.he started participating in 'thrisoor pooram' ,one of the most famous celebrations of kerala (especially famous for the 'panjavadya' event and 'kuda mattom'),from the side of 'paramekavu'and has been one of the prime participants of 'thiruvambadi' side since then .since 2002 he has been leading the famous 'nenmara-vallangi vela'.he is the first person among the new generation 'thimila' experts to get this honourable opportunity.he also practised music under the guidance of ayiloor ponnappa bagavathar for two years.

The well known expert in 'edakka' was born on 22-02-1976 as the youngest son of the famous 'thimila 'player pallavur maniyan marar and shanthakumari marasyar of puthukode marath .at the age of 9 itself he started doing 'adiyantharam' at the pallavur siva temple.made his debut in 1995 .from 1997 onwards he started learning 'edakka' under the expert guidance of his uncles pallavur appu marar and pallavur kunjukuttan marar.from that year onwards he started playing 'edakka' in many of the famous 'panjavadya' events .also practiced music under the guidance of pallavur krishna iyer .became the 'edakka' player in the famous 'madathil varavu' panjavadya event of 'thrisoor pooram' .

PallavurTrinity:- Late Pallavur Appu marar,and his brothers late kunjukuttan marar and late Manian marar were instrumental in putting Pallavur into the Percussion map of kerala..... more
